Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

I am pleased and somewhat surprised. I figured the democrats would attempt a filibuster. good for them in choosing not to do so.

I would not ascribe the lack of a fillibuster to the high principles of the Democrats. No doubt they commissioned a poll which indicated such an action would be bad for their political futures.

I cheer Alito's confirmation! Good news for the US Constitution and the second amendment in particular, in my view.

Sam Alito has just been confirmed by a majority vote of the US Senate.

No fillibuster attempted.
Am I completely mistaken? I thought a filibuster was attempted yesterday and soundly defeated. The "Constitutional Option" was not invoked but a simple vote carried to close debate, despite the protestations of Kerry and that blithering, fat idiot Ted Kennedy.

You are correct. If I remember correctly, the vote was 72-25 for cloture. The moonbats have taken over. As for "that blithering, fat itiot Ted Kennedy,"Mary Jo Kopechne could not be reached for comment . . .

No kidding. The irony was palpable watching Ted try to hold Alito's feet to the fire over perceived inconsistencies in his statements about CAP. This from someone who fully expects us to believe that after driving his car off a bridge he decided to swim home and then magically re-appeared in dry clothing.[:@]

They had to try the filibuster, in order to tell the abortion lobbyistswho give them so much money that they "did all they could."
