Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has adopted the failed leadership tactics a la former Sen. Tom Daschle in his opposition to the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito, a Catholic group said Friday.
Fidelis, a national Catholic-based advocacy group, said Reid's announcement that he will back a Democratic filibuster of Alito is reminiscent of Daschle's leadership style. Daschle was defeated in his 2004 re-election bid by South Dakota Republican John Thune.
"By lending credibility to the filibuster threat of John Kerry and Ted Kennedy, Senator Reid is playing risky politics with the voters of Nevada and his party, and risks marginalizing his role as Minority Leader," said Fidelis President Joseph Cella in a statement.
"Senator Reid has aligned himself with two of the most liberal Senators in the country, and is quickly becoming more like Tom Daschle by alienating the moderate voices of his party and by adopting the obstructionist tactics of his predecessor," Cella said.
Cella heralded Alito's qualifications, saying "he will respect the rule of law" and noting that the American Bar Association has even endorsed him.
"What more is needed to convince Senator Reid that there is no reason to delay a final vote on Judge Alito?" Cella asked.
"The longer Senator Reid serves as Minority Leader, the more he becomes like Tom Daschle. Just like Daschle, he has embraced the agenda of liberal groups, blocks judges with procedural gimmicks, and pretends as though he is in touch with the values of his home state," concluded Cella.
Who is "your" referring to Rev. My leader is GWB,Commander and Chief. Don't agree with many of his policies but I voted for him and he's the prez.
For the record I'm an Independent.
I was referring to the democrats.. As far as GWB, I voted for him too, and I don't agree with all his policies either, especially the border issue.. As far at the war on terror, he's got more spine than anyone I've seen on capitol hill.
I hope he goes the way of Daschle. I can't get over the fact that Alito is much more mainstream than Ginsberg, yet she was voted in 97-3 with nearly every republican vote. All democratsvoting against confirming Alito should pay a price for putting politics over doingtheir duty of advising and consenting.

I am going to look up what Ginsberg believes.. The mainstream media certainly will not show them.
Girls age of consent should be 12, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.. If allowed Ginsberg would turn us into Sodom and Gomorrah.. (Clinton would love that )
