Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Chevron's 4Q Profit Soars to Record High

Chevron Corp.'s fourth-quarter profit climbed 20 percent to $4.14 billion, a company record that continued the most prosperous stretch in the oil company's 126-year history as it capitalizes on high fuel prices that are squeezing consumers and ruffling politicians.

Yes it does.especially when it's a new record high for the oil company. No one in the big bussinesses or our government cares about the people any more. And it upsets me that nothing is being done about by the people. When does one takes up with their fellow americans and say we had enough? No more of this BS.I think americans have become scared and to dependant and like being bent over all the time.Maybe thats why there is so many gays in this country,They enjoy the back door treatment.

I am getting sick and tired of the crying....It's about supply and demand.. if we (Americans) quit belly aching about how bad things are, and do something about them then things would change.
We cry about the high price of fuel, while we drive one ton four wheel drive trucks (like I do ). We don't car pool, we hoard fuel when prices are rising...
The government shouldn't be in the business of fixing prices,,, Remember that little country that tried to control every thing (Russia ) what happened to them... Let the market dictate what it will bear, and quit gripping about it, and do something...
We are just now catching up to what the rest of the world has been paying for fuel twenty years ago..
I get so sick of hearing how the president controls oil prices, that is pure BS. If we could take control of our country back from the liberals that screwed up our drilling due to environmental stupid laws, the rag heads wouldn't be holding us by the sack...

JohnnyB- do you own any Chevron stock? If not, I challenge you to explain why you aren't getting on the gravy train and taking part in those profits.

If a company doesn't make big profits, share holders pull out. Then the company down sizes and people lose jobs.

Seems some people have forgotten that successful businesses drive our economy more than individual consumers. When business does well, America does well.

Frankly, I'm sick of the childishness of those whining about oil company profits. No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to gas up. If it bothers you that much, sell your car and move to a city that has mass transit like all the liberals want you to do. Otherwise you're just going to have to accept that certain conveniences come at a price.

There is no right to cheap gasoline listed in the Constitution!

Yea I see our economy booming when our american made vehicles are being made over seas now.People can't afford decent 2nd handed cars and alot of people can't afford to eat 3 meals a day and pay for heating prices of their home to keep warm from the high prices of fuel. What bothers me are the people whoclaim to be americans who don't care aboutanyone but their selfand nottrying to help the poorer ones out but makeing the rich richer and the poor poorer.

"You load 16 tons and what do you get, another day older and a deeper in debt, St Peter don't you call me cause I can't go, I owe my soul to the company store"

Lol, so you believe our rebounded economy is going down the tubes because of a few negative factorsyou've perceived? I didn't take you for a free market kind of guy anyway, and it's clear you don't really understand how things work in a capitalistic society.

If you can't afford your lifestyle, you either a) cut back, or b) work harder and smarter. America has had more opportunities for longer than any other country in the world. There is no excuse for failure, except maybe complete idiocy and incompetence. Even the most ignorant illegal aliens from the third world are sending thousands home to their families, in addition to the thousands they spend supporting themselves here. Get some work ethic and stop expecting corporations to pay your way.
