Default Texas border standoff with Mexican military

Texas law enforcement officers and Border Patrol agents engaged in an armed standoff with Mexican military personnel and drug smugglers just inside the United States along the Rio Grande yesterday afternoon.

According to a report in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin of Ontario, Calif., both Texas law enforcement and the FBI stated nearly 30 American agents were part of the incident.

Chief Deputy Mike Doyal of the Hudspeth County Sheriff's Department told the paper Mexican military Humvees were towing what appeared to be thousands of pounds of marijuana across the border into the United States

Border Patrol agents called for backup after seeing that Mexican Army troops had several mounted machine guns on the ground more than 200 yards inside the U.S. border "“ near Neely's Crossing, about 50 miles east of El Paso.

Doyal said Hudspeth County deputies and Texas Highway patrol officers arrived shortly afterward.

"It's been so bred into everyone not to start an international incident with Mexico that it's been going on for years," Doyal told the Bulletin. "When you're up against mounted machine guns, what can you do? Who wants to pull the trigger first? Certainly not us."

I don't think they would have a hard time finding any volunteers in Texas. Heck especially now that hunting season is over...

What a load of crap! [:@] I think I understand the hesitation on the part of the agents, troopers, and deputies, though. Would you and a half dozen other guys with a few rifles and shotguns between you want to take on infantry with heavy machine guns?

We need the National Guard down there immediately to quite literally do its job. This international criminal activity cannot be tolerated, and the fact that it's performed byorgans of the Mexican government clearly shows the severity of the situation. Our country is at risk of terrible social, economic, and political damage. There are plenty of Americans ready to defend our home, but we need some friggin' leadership with the balls to take care of business.

This is frickin retarded. Glad I don't live there. If I did I might get in trouble or end up in jail. I bet land mines, or the order to shoot would persuade some from trying to cross! What are we going to do when agroup of low life scum bag terrorists realize that they don't have to flyinto the states. They can fly intoMex. then sneak across the border. Or maybe it's already happening?

I've said it many times in the past , and here it comes again:

We don't need any new citizens , this country already has a poplation density of 50 people per square mile , suspend all immigration until further notice except in those rare cases where the immigrant actually has something to offer this country besides cheap labor. Thanks for applying , but the carwashes are already fully staffed . Next ...

Seal the gawdammed border by force of arms and shoot anything that doesn't closely resemble an armadillo . The Natl. Guard needs live fire practice and somewhere to do it , the southern border is ideally suited for both .

"Mines" is not a dirty word , it's a cost effective solution to a pervasive problem , start digging.

From howfar is a BMG actually still lethal ? Enquiring minds want to know .

"One shot , one kill , it's effective ." It was true then and still is , but it should still be tested from time to time just to be sure.

They could also make the border a testing ground for munitions. If an illagal alien gets into the range he better watch out for a bunker buster!!!
