Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Committee Against Sport Hunting

I just came across their website the other day. I've never heard of them, but their name says it all.

I came across it accidentally and didn't save the link. It should be easy to google.

taken from the above website:

"We hope to alter whatever belief still exists that sport hunters are conservationists and champions of the environment to a realization that they are destroyers of wildlife and ecosystems in the narrow and broad sense."

I guess they never heard of the RMEF or other conservation groups who have helped game populations flourish.

I have alway felt that the best way to debate anti-hunters is to simply point out how much hunters are involved in habitat preservation that benefits all species, not just game animals. Hell, Ducks Unlimited has probably done more over the years to preserve wetlands than all theanti-hunting groups combined.

One need only tally the $$$$$$$$ that sportsmen spend and couple that with century high populations of elk, deer, sheep, goat, varmits, waterfowl and such to quickly show that these people are truly idiots in what they are preaching. There is a direct correlation that cannot be ignored.

A lot of middle of the road folks might be less inclined to lean toward anti-hunting if they knew what an economic catastrophe it would be if all of thehunting-related jobs were eliminated.

I once attended a Green Peace meeting. One of the spokespeople said that they tend to avoid opposing trapping and hunting by native folks like Eskimos and Indians because it would be too disruptive of their traditional culture andeconomy. The same case could be made for other people and industries tied into hunting and trapping.

I couldn't help but notice that the majority of tree and bunny huggers seem to be in their 20s and fresh out of college . The real hardcores tend to be in their 30s , have been with "the cause" for at least 10 years , and tend to have jobs in the teaching field , usually college .

Hmmm ...
