Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

There is no money in busting drug dealers & some of them carry guns.
D.U.I. is where the big bucks are.We have Crawford County D.U.I. Inc.They run classes on drugs & alcohol. With five years probation its big business.
They sell crack on every corner all day long but we don't have any police on patrol untill evening. On the weekends its like being in Iraq ,with road blocks and check points.
Howmany people do you now that gut busted for D.U.I. had weed in their pocket that was never seen again.[]

And we are fighting over wire taps!!

Most dealers are smart enough not to sell drugs in front of police. The stupid ones who do sell drugs in front of police get arrested and put in jail. This tends to weed out (no pun intended) the drug dealer pool pretty quick of the stupid ones. After that, police have to go undercover and dress up like scumbags to catch people selling drugs on street corners. Being undercover does work as people will sell you drugs on a street corner then. And since you're undercover, regular people passing by then complain about drug dealers selling drugs on a street corner.

The problem with making undercover buys is you naturally want to get to the distributor for that street corner dealer and then work your way as high up the distribution chain as possible. To do this, you tend to avoid having all the other scumbags watching the street corner see you arrest a drug dealer on a street corner. You do things like get warrants, arrest people out of sight where you can give them the choice of going to jail or making a buy for the cops, etc.

This type of police tactic actually is very effective at getting to drug distributors which tends to reduce the drug trade immensely. However, it also looks like cops aren't doing anything about drugdealers on the street corners. Most motorists passing by such street corner drug deals aren't going to notice that the original drug dealer is no longer there and has been replaced by a different drug dealer because police actually did arrest the previous one and he's now busy making undercover buys for the police.

And sometimes the new drug dealer on the corner is actually an undercover cop making a drug sale to buyers in what is know as a sting. but that is another entirely different police tactic for another discussion.

Why not just set up a video camera in a window and watch the transactions? Seems like it might cut down on the costs.

There are many people that voluntarily write down license numbers of people cars and turn them over to Police, why not utilize the community?

Oh no your honor, my client wasn't selling that scumbag crack, he was selling him talcum powder. and without any evidence and substance testing, it would be a travesty of justice, not mention a lack of proof, to convict my client of this horrible crime. Even if he does hang out on street corners in the ghetto and wear lots of gold chains. Why, that would be profiling and discrimination because my client is _____________________(fill in the blank for your poor downtrodden group of choice).

Writing down license plate #'s is a good start as long as the criminals don't see you doing it and assault you. Even better is calling those license plate #'s in ASAP on a cell phone with the vehicle description (make, model & color), suspect(s) description, direction of travel and exactly what you saw that looked like drug sales. And last, but not least, give the police your real name instead of being "anonymous." That would be enough probable cause to make a traffic stop, conduct an investigation and maybe even violate their rights with one of those police K9 drug dogs.

Cal hit the nail on the head. also these drug dealers utilize look outs that the untrained eye would not notice. as soon as a marked unit pulls down the road, they let out whistles and other communications to let everyone know that there is a cop in the area. this is technically a crime, but can not be proved in a court of law. all the look out has to say is he was happy and felt like whistleing.

This WAS done during Reagans "War on drugs" and Bush Sr. continued it UNTIL............... the Congressional Black Caucus stopped it!!! Remember the late 80s through about 90 when our jails were FULL of young black crack dealers who were serving heavy time for simple crack possession and South American cocaine dealers were being extradicted and sentenced too life?

What happened? The practice was labeled as racists and so the practice was all but stopped. Typical liberal boosheut, nevermind the truth. The minorities don't want "whitey" putting them all in jail for breaking the law. No now you have minority members of the law enforcement, judicial and legislative branches of govts making sure that "racial quotas" are met with regards too inmate populations, regardless of the fact of who did what.

I say take matters into your own hands. If you see it being done, just drive by some night and ICE them from your car window. The general public (and most honest, hard working beat cops) won't give a damn about some thug being murdered while dealing poison too our kids.

Let's just take our streets back, mob style! Twas a time when the thugs, criminals and general vermin were just dealt with in private. They just "disappeared" one night in thin air and no one cared to ask questions why either!

As much as I'd enjoy that, its only a matter of time before a complete innocent in the apartment behind the scum bag gets killed. Happens all the time when scum bags are doing drive by's on each other.
