Default Will you be moving to or visiting the "Chocolate City?"

So the New Orleans mayor doesn't want white people in his city eh? No, he says that's not what he meant. Open mouth, insert foot, I guess?

How about Hillary's plantation remarks? I didn't have to much of a problem with them when I heard that Newt said something similar years ago. How could you find fault in one, but not the other. I did have a problem with her context and follow up remarks, though -- speaking to an African American organization on MLK day. Then she said, "You know what I mean..."

They're dems, and there has always been a double standard. for them.Jesse Jackson, if he were white or Republican, would have been assassinated (character assasination ala Clinton style)by now, if not hung by the media, which is 95% liberal oriented--dems.I'm not surprised by these remarks at all--they are just expressing their actual sentiments, which were already in existence. If they are such champions of racial harmony, then why such hate rhetoric, and its being tolerated? I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the tolerant crowd tolerates anything and everything, except those who disagre with them, and then watch out for the hate rhetoric! If we really want racial harmony, then these kinds of remarks shoud be condemned sevwerely--but watch as it becomes twisted into some strange way of justifying it, blaming it on the republicans. The hypocritical attitude now toward Mexicans, in the name of 'securing our borders', ia another examlpe of this double standard.

I can't believe N.O. major came right out and talked like that!!! [:'(] Perhaps he should have a listen to the message in an old Sly & the Family Stone tune.....

Sometimes, I'm right, and I can be wrong
My own beliefs are in my song
The butcher, the banker, the drummer, and then
Makes no difference what group I'm in
I am everyday people, yeah yeah

There is a blue one who can't accept the green one
For living with a fat one trying to be a skinny one
Different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and scooby-dooby-dooby
Ooh sha sha, we got to live together

I am no better and neither are you
We are the same whatever we do
You love me, you hate me, you loathe me, and then
You can't figure out what bag I'm in
I am everyday people, yeah yeah

There is a long hair that doesn't like the short hair
For bein' such a rich one that will not help the poor one
Different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and scooby-dooby-dooby
Ooh sha sha, we got to live together

There is a yellow one that doesn't like the black one
That won't accept the red one that won't accept the white one
Different strokes for different folks
And so on and so on and scooby-dooby-dooby
Ooh sha sha, I am everyday people

I never took you as a Sly fan. I love the old Family Stone, got all their albums. Too bad he died.[]

As for the "chocolate" statement. I took it as he was saying a black city. He then crawfished and talked down on the media and said with an additude, "how do you make chocolate? You mix equal parts white milk and chocolate". Hmmmm, you make chocolate with chocolate and milk. I always thought chocolate was nothing more than coco and sugar. Milk Chocolate is made with milk and chocolate. What would have happened if a white person would have said, " I want to get back to a vanilla city". Also, what did he mean then when he said, "lets face it, N.O. is chocolate". This kind of double standard is what keeps us from getting to racial harmony. Either everyone needs to get a since of humor or cut out all racial references all together. I prefer a since of humor.

If I were black, I would have been offended. Not because of what she said, but how she said it. She was playing to the black crowd, and it was not effective and was done at the wrong time. Like when she followed the statement with, "and you know what I mean". I guess she was saying the Republicans were nothing more than the almighty "Whitey" or "The Man".[:'(]

Oh yeah... I'm an "everything" fan. Rock, Folk, Jazz, R 'n B oldies, Funk, and Blues.

Sly Stone was way ahead of his time and the sound they had was incredible. I love their tune "I want to take you higher" and "Dance to the Music". Both of those tunes just make you get up and groove to them!

In my CD shelf at home, you'll find a wide range going from Johnny Cash, to Patsy Cline, to the funk of Earth Wind & Fire, to the hard rock/metal sounds of Metallica, with a little of everything thrown in as well.

Getting back to the N.O. Mayor and the Hildebeast... I just roll my eyes at them and think of the double standards and hypocrites they truely are.

Nagin is just one more reason thatMother Nature should have flushed that toilet when she had the chance.

I might visit NO, but it won't be because of that sad excuse for a leader they have. Hiliary's comments show she's not as smart as the "intelligentsia" make her out to be! From a party who attacks any african american black person who strays from their democrat left plantation, that is definitely the pot calling the drapes black!

"...Nawlins is gonna be a chocolate city..." Uhhhhhhhh what in the hell was it before???

I heard it went sumpin like this. During a visit shortly after the hurricanes ol' Billybob and Swillary Klintoonwere staying at the same hotel as Mayor Ray Nagin(causin his house had no power of course!). One night during dinnerPres. Billyhad to use the restroom and excused himself from the table. He walked into the bathroom just as Mayor Nagin was zippin his fly. Billyboy exclaimed, "DAMN Ray, I always heard you chocolate boys was packin loads down there but your's is almost unhuman. Was you born with that?"

Mayor Nagin laughed and proudly told the ex-Pres, "Naw man, you just gotta take it out and whack it on the bedpost a few times each night before you jump in the sack. That's all it takes and it will look like this in no time."

Of course Billyboy stayed out partying and womanizing all night and returned too his hotelroom at the wee hours of the morning. He was REALLY quiet as he snuck his way into the bed, everyone knows what happens when his wife gets mad and he certainly didn't want to face her wrath if he woke her up.Da Presundressed and was just about to slip into the sheets when he remembered the mayors advice. So he stopped, whipped out "the lil ex-pres" and gave it a couple of sharp clanks on the bedposts.

Hillary instantlyshot up andeagerlyasked, "Is that you Mr. Mayor"???
