Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Wisconsin Conceal N Carry issue

Please read the following article and if you are in favor please write
to the following who are against this bill and might effect the 2 thirds
out come.
Anyone have a idea on the wording that should be used when sending off emails to these people? I am currently working on it and trying not to be so frustrated.
Also should I post this in another forum on here so it gets noticed more?

What he doesn't understand (as well as most other anti gun people) is that the people that would want to legally carry concealed are not the ones that the cops need to worry about when responding to a call. It's the ones that are already carrying concealed that they have always had to and will continue to have to worry about.

I certainly hope you guys get it passed.

Doyle will veto. Most likely Friday afternoon.

I also predict that just like last time, one of the supportive democrats will switch sides at the last minute and the override attempt will fail.

Responsible gun owners aren't a threat to society, but the "other side" doesn't get that. They continue to want laws they think will protect the people in spite of them selves.

These gun banners always get support from police chiefs and sheriffs associations. Ticks me off. They fall in lockstep with the Dems. despite the fact that most officers and deputies are very conservative and would support concealed carry.

Quote:
MADISON, Wis. -- Gov. Jim Doyle vetoed a bill Friday night that would let Wisconsin residents carry hidden guns and knives, setting up a political battle in the Legislature that could test party loyalty.

Doyle, a Democrat, said the concealed carry bill would just put more guns on the street.

He said the Legislature should spend more time on things like job creation, not guns.

Majority Republicans are expected to try hard for an override of the veto.
Vetoed on Friday as predicted. Now we'll hope my 2nd prediction doesn't come true also.

i've always believed, "if you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns". if that makes any sense. only the honest hard working people do as there suppose to by registering their firearms and obtaining permits to carry. the criminals, who break laws at will anyway, are not going to spend the time or money to be legal. i no longer have the exact figures BUT when australia outlawed firearms....their murders and other serious crimes against persons quadrippled. this is because only the honest hard working people of this country did as the law said and got rid of their only protection...their firearms.

the criminals on the street that i come in contact with everyday i go to work are not scared of me or the laws i enforce. what keeps them half way under control is knowing that the next home they break into or person they rob might have a surprise for them. this is why, atleast in my area, most of the victims of violent crimes do/did not own a firearm. it seems as if the criminals did do a little homework and play the odds by picking victims that they thought would be unarmed. you never see on the news about the driver of a lifted up chevrolet pick up truck with a confederate flag in the back window being car jacked...do ya?
