go for it. seems like the internet has really opened the floodgates of potential "big time players" and brought poker to the forefront of spectator gaming and made it possible for anybody good enough to get their foot in the door. good luck. I was just watching Ted Nugent on a talk show (see my post on another "appeasing anti" thread)

Is that "Ted The pervert Nudget" I don't think he knows the numbers well enough to make the odds in his favor. []

I'm not that big on poker, or gambling in general. I can't handle gambling. I'm way too cheap. About the most I'll ever lose in a machine is $1, and that's only when it won't give me the coke.

Sissy man !
Live life to the fullest , put $2 in the Coke machine but only press the button once and hope for two ...

Personally , I don't get the sudden national obsession with a game that's been around forever . I don't gamble either , but WTF ?

As soon as the paint I'm watching is done drying, I'll turn it on. You gotta be kidding me. Watch people play cards? But I guess some folks watch people fish so what can ya' say? There are a lot of folks that have way to much time on their hands.

I love my Friday night poker. Its cheaper than any other entertainment I can think of, its exciting, fast action, its a good time with the guys and an opportunity to win some cash. I was in a small tourney last week and won the first go around ( $ 90 win ) and in the second I was one of the last two and was down in chip count, and the low/high was enough that eventually I was going to lose, so I went all in with a Jack and 8 of diamonds. He had pocket 5's and won. I did draw a straight flush a couple of weeks back, King high

Me and a few of my friends started playing last year. We have anywhere from 6-12 guys playing with usually $10 buy ins. And you can buy back in during the first hour.

And yes we watch it on TV. Thats where I learned for the most part how the basics of the game.

I really think poker has got alot more popular since ESPN shows about 2 hours of it a day.

I believe it was espn that reported making more money off of showing poker than hockey. They filled the hockey time slots with poker when the hockey players where on strike. I guess I can see why being that there is very little overhead to televise a poker game. you send one or two camera men and an interview to poker. I would imagine you would need several of each for a hockey game. someone must be watching it.
