Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Why the tendency to blame?

I notice that lately (or maybe I'm just noticing it more as I age) that blame is the most important thing in life. If something bad happens, the first thing that must be done is to blame someone. After all, it's not possible sometimes s**t just happens because life is inherently unsafe.

Don't get me wrong, sometimes people are genuinely negligent or at fault, but we're going overboard when we start blaming people for natural disasters. I'm no Bush fan, but I certainly don't blame him for Katrina. If anyone is to blame for that, it was the original founders of the city who decided to build on the coast and below sea level, but they are all ong dead, so that would bea waste of time. I also don't blame anyone besides the terrorists for 9/11.

I may be completely wrong, but I feel that pointing fingers does nothing but waste valuable time and energy.

I think there would be alot less finger pointing if more people had bahls enough to stand up and take accounatiblty for actions that they are responsable for.

People like Ken Lay come to mind.

nicely said VT. I'm as guilty as anyone for crossing the line from debate to blame, but that being said, the issue of who is responsible for much of the maladies in our society rests on our elected officials. I think Bush is an embarassment. So when I think about issues that affect the world I go into that with my premonitions, as I'm sure most people do. Its not that I look for an excuse to rip bush, but he is ultimately in charge so when the issue goes beyond "stuff happens" he's probably going to be the first person we look at.

And you end up with 1 finger pointed at the other person and 3 fingers pointed back at yourself.
