I've seen Animal Planet's ASPCA episodes plenty enough to question whose authority it would be to rid this world of a pet.
So here's what I have: I'm down to one cat from two, thank you Jesus. One to go. I have given him a grace period - he messes up, he's out. At first it wasn't bad - with the other cat gone, things seemed like they were going to work out. The cat has started a bad habit though - stretching up a wall to finish by scarping his claws down the wall. I simply cannot tolerate this any longer.
Rather than trying to find a home and prolonging my agony, or paying money to a vet to have it put down, I figure a $.10 .22 bullet to the head and a good toss to the ditch would be fine. I was thinking though - what if I were caught? What if somone filmed this act? Could I be arrested? Is it wrong? I'm not saying to abuse the thing, you know... light him on fire, throw him like a clay pigeon, drop him from the barn roof...nothing like that, but simply ending his life abruptly yet tastefully.
Anything wrong with this?

Simply do a search for one of the threads about what happens when a "stray" dog or cat wanders under someone's treestand while they are hunting. You'll find dozens of contacts that will do the job for you.
Next, declare your cat a stray and deposit it under the appropriate stand.

No problem and you came to the right place.

Yep, if you set it free around my house and it take up residence in one of my shops spreading worms and fleas to my cat and dogs, it will get an ammonia bath. If that dont work, it will find a .22.

Shoot the damn cat and any other cats wandering around outside. The toll that they take on small game, especially during Spring nesting, is horrific.
<sniff> <sniff>.....
Do I smell a cat fight?
Not exactly the direction I was taking this, but just as well if it has to be.
(Sorry, a little bored with the regular "political" topics.)
I have watched many episodes of the show I mentioned, including episodes where many cases were shot right here in good ol' Destroyit. I honestly feel for some of these people. Before you skin me and leave me for dead, listen: We have people running around this country that can essentially torture and murder humans with no serious repercussion, yet people go to jail and pay steep fines every day for doing the same OR LESS to an animal. Seems bizarre to me is all.
