Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Run in with anti-hunting PETA whacko!!

I have a problem and need some advice. I live in a new subdivision and have received permission from the developer to hunt the undeveloped section. This is great because it is 5 minutes from my front door and my normal hunting spot is 1 hour away. I have scouted the property and found a wonderful location for my tree stand. Saturday was my first time hunting it and I had 5 deer coming up the trail right toward me.To make a long story short, they were spooked by a husband and wife combo walking through the woods(they live on the adjoining property so I guess technically they were trespassing). The only consolation is that I scared the crap out of them when I yelled down from my stand, they were standing right underneath me. I had to endure a few ridiculous comments from the wife in regards to my "killing deer" and they proceeded to walk the trails making all kinds of racket (obviously intentional). I don't want to involve the developer andruin my hunting priviledges.Does anyone have any recommendations on how to handle the situation?

Report it to the game warden. It could be illegal to disturb a hunt in your state.

You already messed up by yelling down from your treestand, let them walk by without noticing you. They probably meant no harm, just out for a walk, the deer would probably adjust to this. By bringing attention to yourself, you now have a possible enemy, scared the deer off and given them reason to continue to take loud walks. Taking a walk in the woods is NOT hunter harassement, you have to prove they are doing something soley to disturb your hunt.

The only chance you have legally, is trespassing, which they may or may not be doing depending on local laws.

What's the old saying "loose lips sink ships"..... You should of kept quiet. The deer are probably used to people walking thru the area and aren't too spooked by it! It could of been a great spot but now you have these people to deal with! Good Luck!

Put up a people feeder... Big Macs, a little fried chicken, maybe some hot apple pie sit back in your stand, wait then,Wham!
Just wishful thinking. People like that really are a royal pain. They all deserve to be walking in Central Park with all the other looneys.

You are correct Bob H. In hindsight, I should have kept my mouth shut. I have only been bow hunting for 2 months now and was so happy to have found a potentially fruitful set up that I let my anger get the best of me.

hey kyhunting the only advice I can give is being a good nieghbor. you said the husband and wife combo live adjacent to the property you are hunting, go over there and tell them you have permission to hunt the property(by owner) and let them know when you plan on hunting, then ask if they can stay away for their safety. you "don't" want them to be in harms way while you are shooting.

I spilled my coffe on my keyboard! that's some funny stuff DC!!

Getting back on topic. I would leave it alone for now and hunt it as you would usually do. The odds of the anti's bothering you are slim as I'm sure they won't be there every day. Remember it's illegal to interfere with yourhunting but it's not illegal to walk inthe woods as long as they are not trespassing.

If they do indeed start to bother you, I would talk to them first and let them know what they are doing is not legal and that you have permission to be in there and they don't.

Good luck with this.

P.S.

There is always DC's method...assuming she's hot!

I had two idiots come up on me after I had been in the stand all morning and they were talking loudly and making all kinds of racket (kicking rocks and dragging their feet) intentionally. This is after they had seen me. Then they walk up to me and start talking to me like normal. We all had guns dressed in camo, COULD THEY HAVE NOT JUST PERHAPS GUESS ON WHAT THE HELL I WAS DOING!!. I am going to find out if its illegal to desturb hunts in TN and if so I'm hauling their asses off to jail. I have not seen them any this year and thank God. I had so much trouble out o fthem lastyear that I just made up my mind that if they were to do that crap again, it was going to be a brawl in the woods. I've had two instances where I just sat back and let someone "run over" me and I finaly made up my mind to whip their ass. No talking just doing it. thank God neither one of them showed cause someone would have gotten seriously hurt. I had a whole off season to think about that crap. Next year i am thinking about leasing soem land. My inlaws let anyone and everyone hutn their land and this is why I always have problems.

You should have asked her fat arse where that hamburger comes from she eats. Does she think it comes directly from McDonalds or the cow fields?? LOL

You could have pulled a Chuck Norris on them.
