What I keep thinking about is when Perot was questioned about his experiance and qualifications for being President.
Perot replied that, while he knew he wasn't the brightest light in the harbor, he didn't need to be. He said you just needed to surround yourself with smart capable people.
In some inane way it made sense at the time.
He overlooked the fact that you have to beable smartly choose the right people.
I didn't sense any sinisterness(if thats a word) in Ross Perot, nor do I in GWB.
Both seem plain spoken, a little nieve, but with basicly good hearts and good intentions.
But neither seems sly or cunning or, bright enough to not be mis-lead bypeople smarterthan themselves.Is a lack of guile the correct word?
When I think about what kind of presidentency Porot would have had, the lack of vision, the lack of cunning, the lack of slyness, I see the presidentency of GWB.

all i have to say is...the next person that becomes the president of the united states will not be able to fix everyone's problems either...and when he can't, he'll be bashed just like GWB!

He may not be cut-throat enough for politics, but he doesn't make it a secret where he stands on a subject. I like that quality, even though I don't agree with some of his policies..
He's supposedly dumber than dirt, except when he fooled the entire U.S. Congress into going to war with Iraq? And fooled the military into keeping him out of battle? Andfooled the state of TX intomaking him theirgovernor? Andfooledenough U.S. citizens into giving him two terms as president? Yep--sounds like a complete idiot to me.
Folks, you don't have to like him, but some of you do need to make up your mind. He gets accused of things that would require a genius to pull off, then gets accused of being stupid by many of those same people. You can't say it was allmoney and powereither, else George Soros would be president and Perot would have won at least one term. How many of the self proclaimed (directly or not)pollitical geniuses here have served even one term in government? Dog catcher and class president are not qualifiers.
