Textbooks Begin Judging Clinton Impeachment Tuesday, December 27, 2005
WASHINGTON"”The impeachment of former President Clinton is in a gray area of history, too long ago to be a current event, too recent to be judged in perspective.
Yet history is already judging Clinton in the place where millions of students get their information about him "” textbooks.
Seven years after he was impeached in a scandal of sex, perjury and bitter politics, Clinton has become a fixture in major high school texts.
The impeachment is portrayed in the context of his two-term tenure, a milestone event, but not one that overshadows how Clinton handled the economy, crime and health care.

It has historical significance to the entire nation, and it only has to have happened yesterday to be history . Anything a President does has historical significance , not just here but everywhere . Glad to see our School books are finally staying "Current". When I went to school (80's+ very early 90's) they were atleast 10 years out of date if not more. Even the books published the year I had them.

well, i would argue that it was our nation's spending tens of millions of dolars on an investigation that turned up evidence of a presidential hoover that turned us into an international laughing stock.
Why not?
It has historical significance to the entire nation, and it only has to have happened yesterday to be history . Anything a President does has historical significance , not just here but everywhere . As opposed to the "Caesar" we have now that is held in the absolute highest esteem by the rest of the world?
Whether you think Clinton was a good president or not, he was one of the most popular and well respected in other countries, so your statement really doesn't make any sense.

This will probably go a lot quicker if you just recognize that you are wrong and I am right.
Clinton was intelligent and charismatic. I think we are more of a laughing stock now with a president that can barely read from a teleprompter, can't remember which door he came through then stands like a deer caught in headlights, takes 5 week long vacations when thousands of people are dying in New Orleans, and runs up the national debt like its going out of style. Its a pretty sorry state of affairs when the nicest thing I can say about him is at least he's not dick cheney.
