hi everybody! i just read the article about women and hunting. i can say it's definitely true that for most women, time is the issue. we tend to be either too busy with school, career or tending the home. also i think it's a parental thing and social thing. we tend not to want our daughters hunting and alot of guys think it's not feminine. i'm a 19 year old girl and most girls my age i have been friends with are not into hunting or fishing (even when their guys might be!). for the reasons above! and i think their guys assume they don't wanna hunt or maybe the guys just wanna go on their own for a while and have some "just for guys" time. i mean, that's ok. we girls can understand that, but don't assume. ask us!!! i know we may be a drag on you, and i know when my daddy got me into hunting i'm sure i slowed him down alot and maybe even cost him a dear or two. but look at what it got him in return!!!--a daughter that loves hunting, and by the way, uh, hunters!!! i can't tell you how many arguments i have had with lame anti-hunters because i have defended hunting. well, to close this and not just babble on, i want to say that i look forward to this turkey season for two reasons, 1, i love the spring, and 2, it will be my first big vacation where i will finally get the time to do some real hunting as an adult!!! i haven't found any girlfriends that want to hunt with me yet, so who knows, i may be going solo. my daddy is no longer around, but he iswith me inspirit and he left me the gift of understanding and loving hunting.
Christina even if you don't find a hunting partner, we will be with you in spirit, good luck.... some how I have a feeling there will be a very lucky young man coming into your life one day.
