Pig's Blood Bullets

I don't drop in on the Politics forum much, so I apologize if this topic has been done already.

What do you think of the idea of tipping our military's bullets with pig's blood for use against terrorists? I read somewhere that a general used this tactic effectively in the Phillipines war early in the 20th century.

While I'm going against the grain here by stating that I don't think going into Iraq was a good idea, that's hindsight. The fact of the matter is that we're there now and there is a job to be done and a mess to be cleaned up. I say that if tipping bullets in pig's blood actually gives the psychopathic Islamic fanatics something to actually fear, go for it. It's hard to fight an enemy that is happy to die, so this achilles heel should be exploited.

I've heaqrd variations on the pig's blood thing. Every story I've heard have turned out to be myths.

Personally, if it worked, I wouldn't be concerned about a potential holy war with the entire Islamic faith.

But it isn't realistic. If there ever was a verifiable occurrance of someone using bullets dipped in pig's blood to wage war in the Phillipines, I haven't seen documentation of it. Everything I have seen, as has already been pointed out on this thread, was a hoax.

It could be done just with symbolism , you have to consider the mentality of the potential targets . If all of the ammo issued to the troops in Arabic regions was blessed by Rabbis you can bet that the Arabs would be incensed .They are extremely superstitious .
