Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default 2006 is coming............................................ ...

Anyone have any interesting plans for 2006?

I'm going to extend my education a bit...more classes.

I'm going to buy a few more tree stands and a digital trail cam although I have mixed feelings about the way we all hunt these days. But anyway, I want to have too many tree stands! I'll buy 4 or 5 more this year and hang them in March for next season.

I'm going to visit my older son more next year. I miss him a lot.

I'm going to spend a lot of time with my mom and dad. They're older now and they'll need our help much more. My dad is slowing fast. I'm hoping that he'll be able to fish with me one more time this year.

I'm going to go back to my music again. I've turned away from it for about 7 or 8 years now and I need it again. It scratches an itch for me sometimes. Dust off the Fender Stratocaster and break out the amp.

I'll mend a few fences too, if I can.

How bout you guys?

My life isn't so miserable. Now, the people that have to deal with me.....

I'm not sure what next year will bring. Maybe it'll be better than this year.

I'd like to say I'm going to spend more time in the woods, but to be honest, between work and five kids, I seem to get less time every year. I spent a grand total of two and a half days chasing whitetail this year (I also have to drive 3 hours to get to a hunting spot where no one will accidently shoot me).

But, I'm going to finally graduate from college this year - 17 years and six schools after I started. Maybe that will free up some time.

I am going to lose 35 pounds

I am going to finally get the Dall Sheep I have been dying for. Youth passes you by, and I do not want to be one of those "if only" guys.

I will spend more time on my boat and learn to be a better skipper. I still do not feel comfortable running rivers and the ocean can be a little intimidating at time. Each year I get a little better.

I am going to finish my new pup so she is ready for bird season.

I may finally take that tour in Afghanistan or Iraq if things settle down a bit. I can do three months without too much trouble.

Spend more time with the kids, the wife, finish the trim on the hardwood floors.

I'd like to spend more time with my wife and just enjoy life. I've been cutting back on work and am slowly going to be able to cut back on politics after June's election here. I'd like to get back into hunting a little more also. I haven't been able to hunt all year and I'm getting antsy.

I'm going to look for a better tow vehicle for my camper. We hope to travel a lot this summer.

My wife is going to try to babysit during the day to earn a few extra $$$ for the vehicle.

I'll try to get my boat equipped and legal so I do more fishing.

We have twins on the way shortly, so to be quite honest, I have no idea what to expect in 2006.

But what I HOPE to do is spend less time at work, and preferably find a different job . . . which wouldn't be a bit of a problem except that I don't want to relocate. That makes it a bit more of a challenge. I would like to get back to doing what I enjoy doing more than anything else - writing outdoors columns - but don't take the time to do any more due to simply not taking the time to do it.

Aside from that, I'd like to get in some good, quality fishing time this spring, and spend a few more nights beneath the light of the Coleman fishing for cats this summer.

Yep, that's what I want to do.
