After the unfolding of events in South Florida, I'm not at all surprised that the media is on a feeding frenzy with this story. Because it's believed that passengar Alpizar was bipolar and missed taking his meds, there's going to be a big stink around this guy being gunned down by FAMS.
It's sad the guy had to lose his life over this, but I believe the FAMS did their job.

RE: Air Marshals do Their Job
Fams did their jobs. Anything less and their effectiveness would be zero. Can you imagine the scenario that could have played out if he did have a bomb and they tried to take him down without deadly force. As unfortunate as this incident is, it will deter possible future problems because the world knows we aren't messing around with security.

RE: Air Marshals do Their Job
All our security needs to be tough. The times changed when 911 ocurred. Between the news starvedmedia and the bleeding heart liberals, this one should turn out to be a press field day. I guarantee if the guy was on an Israeliflight he wouldn't have even made it off the plane. The system worked and that should be the end of the story. From a tax payer point of view I got what I am paying for. I view thisincident as a small turning point in the war on terror. The word should go out to the rest of the world that the USA isn't playing games.

Makes me sick!
Ok, I want Katie, bless her poor misguided little soul, to have the same situation in her home with her loved ones. Some nutcase says he has a bomb in her house...what should she do ?? Should someone just wound him ? or kill him to make sure the bomb dooesn't go off ?
10 to 1, She sould say to waste the b****** !!!!

Wound him? Yup, if he has a bomb, you wound him and he blows up the bomb, they will say "should have killed him"
When viewing things with hindsight, there's always a "better" solution.
That's it exactly it!!!! Katie et al. need something to editorialize about. It's not enough to report. They have to be critical of those who areprotectingus.
Surely, there is time where criticism is indeed needed. But this is such an obvious case of the system working exactly as it should... [:'(][:'(][:@][:@]
