Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default New Jersey Anti's File Suit to Stop Bear Hunt

U.S. Sportsmen Alliance is reporting:

http://www.ussportsmen.org/interactive/features/Read.cfm?ID=1659

Quote:
Animal rights groups have filed suit to stop the 2005 bear hunting season in New Jersey. Two New Jersey-based anti-hunting groups, on Monday, sued in the Appellate Division of Superior Court to stop the bear hunting season scheduled to begin Dec. 5.

The case is scheduled for hearing on Friday, Dec. 2.

Well let's hope the Appellate court throws this out.

Quote:
The groups contend that the black bear management plan composed by the New Jersey Fish and Game Council (NJFGC) and approved by Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Commissioner Bradley Campbell is flawed and invalid. The groups claim that the NJFGC overestimated the number of black bears in the state, their impact on people and property, and also failed to explore alternatives to manage bear-human contact.
Sounds like a last ditch effort to me.

Considering that Mr. Campbell himself is an anti it will take the courts to straighten this mess out . Also , if I remember correctly it was the same Mr. Campbell who put the brakes on their previous attempt to reinstate the bear hunt last year .

Are these groups the same clowns that travel to different states to get the bear baiting and trapping questions on the ballots via referendum? They tried it in Maine last year and got beaten, which is good because even if you don't like shooting bear over bait, these guys have used this as a foot in the door in several states.
