My friend wanted out of the Navy really bad, so while in port, he jumped off the deck of his ship (air craft carrier) into the water. That got him kicked out.

While we were on a Western Pacific deployment one of the guys in the supply department got the same idea , he stole a raft from a jet and jumped off a sponson in the dark of night . We were approx. 1,000 miles from the Diego Garcia archipelago at the time , the nearest point of land , and the stupid bastard couldn't figure out the directions for a simple solar still . They found him 50 miles from DG , dehydration took him . All he got out of was life .

One guy who did get out alive was attached to the training command next door to us in the adjacent hangar . One day he decided that a naval career wasn't for him , so he marched into the CO's office , laid his unit on the skipper's desk and said "I want out ." The CO looked him right in the eye and said "You're gone ." Fastest discharge I saw the whole time that I was in .

I climbed a 150' water tower and took a leak on a dare after hours. Didn't get kicked out but did get busted 1 stripe.

I haven't, but I've processed the paperwork of tons of discharges. Fastest one I remember was in Boston, MA when a USCG member - "Coastie with an attitude" decided to dumpa bag of cocaine into the big urn of coffee in the galley. The CO, the Ops officer, and a few otherswere flying high as a kite!

When it was determined what had happend, and the guy finally 'fessed up.... he was out! I mean O-U-T! I never typed up a DD-214 and personnel record discharge paperwork so fast before!
