What about the existing laws ?

Color me clueless , but I've always thought that enforcing immigration laws was one of the things that the federal goob does , so why issue temporary visas rather than simply sending them home ?

The reason is simple enough, it was a way for Bush to gain the latino vote!

I think illegal immigrants should have to jump through the legal hoops and the criminals and other undesirables weeded out for deportation and prosecution if appropriate. Giving illegals a blanket immunity is ridiculous.

What is even more rediculous is that illegals risk life and limb to get into this country to work and yet we have citizens of the US who are capable of work, but refuse to and a nice check from the govt for doing so. I say we ship those welfare collectors to Mexico and give the illegals their home.

Man that would be a sweet deal and in the long run would save the taxpayers a ton of money supporting the welfare cheats. For every illegal here that is working and wants to work, we send a bum back to his country of origin and grant the working ones amnesty! I have a feeling that we would kill several birds with one stone!
