As several of you may have noticed, I am now moderating and have tried to change the moderating of this board slightly. Whenever possible, I am simply deleting specific words or phrases that appear to violate HNI rules (see the rules link at top of the page) and leave the bulk of your posts and arguments intact. Although this is more labor intensive, I think it does all of our a members a better service than simply deleting a topic, locking the topic up, deleting a member's entire post or banning the member. Members can continue their discussions and debates without the words, etc. that were deemed to be a rules violation and the rest of the board can benefit from what are often informative and well reasoned arguements on good topics.
If you find part of your post has been deleted, feel free to PM me if you have any questions or comments. I am only human and can misunderstand a post or comment just like anybody else. I am open to your suggestions or concerns and try to answer all PM's and emails as promptly as I can. If you see another member has part of his or her post deleted, don't jump to conclusions and assume it was because they were attacking another member or committing some egregious offense. It could also be something minor and technical per the rest of the HNI rules for posting and have nothing to do with other members posting on that topic.
I'm seeing some of our longtime members who've been absent starting to come back. Hopefully we can entice them to continue posting. I've also seen several new members who have the right stuff join and they are already considered to be valuable contributors on this board. Hopefully this post will help explain how the board is being moderated and encourage people to post more. And now, back to the debates.
