Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default NRA vs. PETA Debate

I just finished watching the debate on TV. I cant even believe how big of a blow out it was for Mr. Lapierre. He really had all his info in line. The guy from PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals) was a joke. He had no factual information and was full of comments that displayed his ignorance. Get this. He said we hunt with hollow point bullets to watch our game explode. That is ver batum. One thing is for sure, his ignorance and sheer stupidity make him one of our best advocates when he chooses to debate openly. He really should have taken some of the time he spent hugging bunnies and taken a debate class instead.

You have to purchase it through INDEMAND cable - here's a link:

I did not see it so can't comment on it.

Not EVERYBODY is laughing.

I find no humor with the fact that they get my tax $. I find no humor with the fact that via government, I am forced to support an organization I do not wish to. I find no humor with the fact that they value animal life above human life. I find not humor in the fact that they actually support domestic terrorist groups.

With the funding PETA has, we had all better stop laughing and take them seriously, OR we'll be done hunting, and they'll be laughing at us.

How is PETA getting tax dollars. I thought they were just tax exempt?

I think they should lose their tax exempt status with their support of environmental terrorists.

Here's one way that might help do that. I don't have much faith in such things, but you never know.

Why is Wayne LaPierre the face of Pro-Hunting? Really, how does an organization that is more concerned aboutfighting the ban onfifty-round clips and uzi's(or whatever guns they're bickering over) relate to chicken farming??

I mean, come on. The head of the NRA might be an "expert" on gun-related violence, the nuiances of certain assault rifle bans, and statistics regarding the blackmarket gun trade. This guy is NOT the face of hunting. He has no expertise in wildlife management, ecology, etc. How is he qualified to argue on behalf of hunters across America??

I'm not saying thatLaPierre's a bad guy, I really couldn't give a hoot. I just know that he's a Charleton Heston chronie with a lust for firepower.

I just don't like the fact that "Hunting" is getting categorically lumped in with the NRA, and I think it stinks. When I think "PETA," I think of an extremist group with a hidden agenda. When I think "NRA", I think of a right-wing extremist group with a not-so-hidden agenda. When I think "hunting," I think of a middle-american pastime with historic roots, comraderie and family.I just hate to see either one of these extremist groups addressing hunting, because I feel thatneither of them is in a position to truly defend or address hunting as I know it. A lot of people have a staunch negative predisposition of the NRA, and I don't like seeing "hunting" being put in the same thought processes as the NRA.They are NOT one-in-the-same.

There are plenty of people who hunt, who don't necessarily support the NRA.Let's let a hunting group defend hunting. The NRA's posture is more of a "look at what a great thing hunting is, and guns make it all possible." "Guns are safe, blah blah blah."

IMO, hunting is best defended through an ecological and scientific approach by experts in the field. Leave it to them. Besides, the general populace trusts their advice and opinions much more than they would LaPierre's.

I'm not trying to start a flame-war here, just trying to make a point. Do any of you guys see where I'm coming from?
