RE: Big Box-Mart parody from Jibjab
Started to get it but it didn't go anywhere. I really need broadband to access all the good stuff in a timely way. I guess I don't have the patience to wait..sorry.

Got it. Hmmmmm. Ive seen walmarts actually create many jobs in a little community. Yea it killed a small buisness or two, but when you think of the trade off, it was better for the community. Mom and pop shop employed 4 or 5 employees with no benifits, where Wally world provided hundreds, with benefits. Go figure.

You gotta be kidding me , right? What benifits do Mal-Wart workers get?, other than a discount on all that s--t
do a search on pillowtex, wal-mart has shipped out more jobs than they'll ever create, i believe the pillowtex deal was 16000 jobs[&o], hit this area very hard (textile industry), BTW the town of Scottsborro, al. has one wal-mart, not nearly enough jobs for what was eliminated

Maybe one day we can all dream of a nation where we can work minimum wage and still be able to afford our trucks and bows and guns and ammo and hunting gear and. and.....

Sad, but true. Way to much of that jib-jab was hitting home.
I went home for homecoming this past weekend. One of the highlights is always the big game on Friday night. We lost, but what is really sad is to look around the field. Look at the sponsors on the scoreboard, and the sponsors around the field. Most of the signs are still up, but most of the businesses are are long gone. Some of them are businesses I used to work for and do business with not long ago. I can't help but notice that Wal-Mart doesn't sponsor anything. But I know people do business with them all the time. That's the reason none of the other businesses are still around.....
The school will probably last a couple more years, but I think it's days are numbered. There just aren't enough people and enough kids to keep one going. When the school goes, the community will probably follow. In a town of 250, losing 21 jobs (the school is now the town's biggest employer)is a death sentence.

It was a funny video and made some good points. I see many businesses (not just Wal-Mart) shipping jobs overseas. I wonder how we can expect a business to voluntarily not be competitive when our country outsources jobs with dumb ideas like naftea and cafta.
