Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Allow me to gripe, please (heating costs, celebs, anchors)

I'll admit, I may watch/listen to way too much news. I watch Fox/CNN at night, and listen to Fox/CNN/CNN Headline News/C-Span/MSNBC... in my truck (XM) for 2+ hours a day. My conclusion is nothing new and certainly not a single thing all of us don't already know, but....

Ok, the media has hyped up the cost of heating this winter darin near to the point of making it a national crisis. Natural gas, as they tell us is expected to double this winter. Home heating oil (diesel) is expected to jump 35%. First, why the big scare they are placing on us? Secondly, why is it that natural gas is going to double this year when it has nothing to do with crude, yet home heating oil isn't being reported to go up as much? ARGHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Another...

For two freaking days every 6.73 minutes I hear about Tom Cruise's future illegitimate child! WHO CARES? Why is this such big news? Because they aren't married? To push immorality?

And....

Why is it that every interview segment you see on any show is filled with interruptions, and presented in a crisis, hurry up mode? It's enough to put you on edge!

Correct me if I'm wrong BUT doesn't the cost or price of natural gas and heating oil go up every winter? I know I've previously heard companies advocating buying heating oil futures in teh commodities market for this same reason.

Which XM channels are you listening to? I thought they were supposed to get rid of the commercials and all the BS and fluff stuff.

Place blame where blame is due. The U.S. Department of Energy released a statement shortly after Katrina hit the coast telling consumers to expect natural gas prices to rise 71% this winter. Want to blame someone for "hyping" it, blame the government. Classic "shoot the messenger" at work here.

Ok, I'll give you that, but nonetheless, why in tarnation is natural gas going up, key word here, "NATURAL"? I really am having a hard time following. I can see an increase of maybe 5%, but SEVENTY ONE????!!!! What are 'they' up to here anyway?
