Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Real difficult. They both make a valid point but in my heart I take this side.

From Earthlink-September 23, 2005 4:12 PM EDT

Johnson, from Orangeburg, S.C., lost her son, Darius Jennings, when his Chinook helicopter was shot down in Iraq in November 2003. The United States, she said, should not have invaded Iraq.
"My son gave his life for his country," she said. "The war was a mistake from the beginning, so my son died for oil."
Darius Jennings was 22. Johnson says she will continue to speak out against the war until the last soldier is brought home.

Champlain Islander "so my son died for oil."
I have heard folks say that, and I have seen it in print, but I have never had anyone connect the dots in showing how they came to such a conclusion.

Can you connect the dots for me please? Can you show just how the war in Iraq is about our controling the oil reserves in Iraq?

I am not understanding the logic behind the statement.

Thanks
Mr-Pirk

I understood the "war for oil" thing early on. But I can't understand how people can still say that.

War for oil huh? I can't see it.
It is sad when the families of loved ones sell out there loss for a political view. I would much rather see poeple prove their case without belittling the lost heroes fo this great nation.
Let their memory carry on, not the pansy liberal press interpretation of why they died.

Folks who say the war was for oil are talking out the wrong end of their anatomy!!!!

My son fought in Operation Iraqi Freedom, talk to him, he saw how the average Iraqi lived and was treated!

He was there, were you?
He knows for a fact what the war was about, do you?

My son fought the war, he also spent 6 months in Afghanistan, he can tell you we did the right thing there also, he can tell you that the average Iraqi and Afghani are gald we are there no matter what the press or the Democrats tell you.

If it was a war for oil, we would own most of Iraq by now. Our armed forces expelled one of the most ruthless tyrants around. God Bless those who protect our freedom.
