accept responsibility for respnse to Katrina so far! I am no big fan of his any longer, but at least he takes responsibilty for his part in this which is a whole lot more then many others! http://www.breitbart.com/news/2005/09/13/D8CJFLDGB.html

I don't see where Bush has anything to apologize for . It was the abject failure of the mayor of NO , and especially the Governor of Louisiana , that caused this fiasco . The fed goob stepped in as soon as they could wthout violating the Posse Commitatus , so why Bush should apologize escapes me .

I like Bush and voted for him, but it was his appointee that fouled up along with the Governor and Mayor of NO. There is blame enough to go around. He will have to take his lumps on this one.
I spent 2 days arguing with a guy who was stating that this was Pres. Bush's fault in totality. At the same time as I defended Bush from total blame as evedienced with the Governor's and Mayor's lack of basic effort or responsibiligy, to ignore the federal responsibility and only criticize the local officialswithout the shared blame is partisian, just as it is for blaming Bush in totality, it just ain't so.

RE: The only man to step up to the plate &....
It seems like everyone had a part in the delay and ineffective disaster recovery. The disappointing thing for me is the realization that we aren't as prepared for catastrophic occurrences even when expected. I wonder how quickly the federal government would have shown up if foreign troops jumped over the levy and spread all over NO to kill and destroy.

Bush had to step up and take blame. No one else was doing it, and it'll help deflect the growing crapstorm that is forming over this mess. If you think Katrina was big, wait until this storm hits Washington. I've heard Ted Kennedy is offering swiming lessons to his fellow Democrats.
Looking into my crystal ball I see a new Federal Agency, Department of No Adult Left Behind. It's budget will be huge, bigger than defense. It's charter will be to take care of all of us forever. Thanks to Bush, we've got "No Child Left Behind", with this new agency we'll finally have cradle to grave protection from everything. Life will be wonderful.

That is why we have the Second Amendment!! As stated in the Declaration of Independence, it's the duty of the people to defend the country from foreign and domestic oppressors! The Constitution was set up so the people could defend themselves, not so the country had to defend them. Although the Constitution also affords the US to have an Army, Navy and Airforce.

Good to see Bush stepped up - bit the bullet - and took some heat for the feds. This should shut the press up for awhile until they figure out a slant to exploite his acceptance of responsibility. Notice how he noted only on the federal leval. Next up to the plate is the LA Gov and NO mayor.
If foreign troops had jumped the levy - Gun ships, Jets and paratroopers would have stormed the area and started spraying bullets. This was a natural disaster which calls for an entirely different response.
