Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

If there was anybody in Kookifornia better qualified to lead than Feinstien they would have no chance of getting elected , same way Chucky stays in office .

I watched quite a bit of the questioning yesterday and it really was bad theater. Mostly pontificating and posturing by Senators with pre-conceived ideas on how they will vote on Roberts.

Feinstein seemed totally intimidated by Roberts' knowledge of the law. Neither she nor Biden can begin to discuss the law on the same plane as Roberts. Feinstein was not going to venture from her prepared script because she is just incapable of discussling legal principles on the level that Roberts does.

Biden wanted to BBQ the guy, but he just didn't have the intellectual wherewithall. So instead he asked 8 minute questions to try to frame Roberts' anticipated answer. When that didn't work, he tried to cut off his answers and accuse him of not answering.

I can't see how anyone who watched Roberts' testimony can think this guy is anything other than a legal genious. I never saw him consult a note or reference. He cited law cases left and right and responded to questions about obscure quotes from 20-year old memos he wrote as a government lawyer.

The Dems have already looked for every conceivable skeleton in the closet and apparently can't find any. Finding some minor flaw in the life an imperfect person and making a mountain out of a mole hill has been SOP for the Dem's opposition to any Bush appointee. Now that they are forced to judge Roberts on his qualifications, there isn't much wind in their sails.

John Roberts looks exactly like Chief Justice material. An excellent choice by W that will serve America well for a long time after his presidency.

Dude, careful what you wish for. Roberts will pass and right now he's already saving us from getting screwed by taking the heat from idiot Senators.

Feinstein is an enemy of America!!!!!!!!!!!

Roberts, in one of his earlier legal breifs, called Roe V. Wade "Settled Law" and Feinstein is saying she will vote against him because she claims he opposes the Roe decision??? What a crazy a$$ bitc#!!!! (now that wasn't very nice) was it?

I truly wish someone -- anyone -- would defeat her in her next election.
She was a crappy mayor in SF before that. Unfortunately, California has a large democratic base that is also extremely liberal. I wish we at least had some conservative southern style demos but we simply don't (at least not to any appreciable degree). Feinstein's true lack of intelligence is showing through.[:@]

We've actually tried on more than one occasion to defeat her but she has a strong democrat base of support.

Underdog, you are right on the money as usual. Excellent observations and post.

Cal, About all I know is what I read on the net.

An observation that I've not heard from any pundit. I find it extremely encouraging that even though the Dems on the panel are among the most ultra-left and known for being vocal attack dogs, not a one has the courage to bring up Roberts' feelings or decisions on the Second Amendment. Next to the issue of abortion, this has been the most defining issue between Dems and Repubs at the national level and they don't want to touch it!

I assure you Feinstein, Schumer and Kennedy are still as anti-gun as ever, but it appears the Dem party has finally figured it out that gun control is not supported by most Americans and costs them support.

You nailed it on this one. Dems are finally figuring out that gun control is a losing subject for them.

Biden was acting like a baby. Things weren't going his way, and the best he could do is say, "Fine!!"
