Good post. The partisanship and resulting gridlockappears to be getting worse as time goes on. Politicians spend more time fighting and posturing among them selves than working together to accomplish the goal of serving their constituents. Presidents are elected initially for 4 years and after the first 2 1/2 years are already spending time and money trying to get re-elected. The opposing party spends the whole time degrading the present administration and attempting to swing public opinion towards their party. When I was younger I always thought the term politician referred to a person who served the public. Now I realize it means being a full time business person whose main job is to fight.

The only realistic cure for party partisanship is an occasional rigorous house cleaning , too bad we have neither the balls nor the sense to carry it out . [&o]
