Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Modern Day Civil Rights "Leader"

This goes a long way in helping those poor people who have been devastated by the hurricane -

Quote:
It is reported that black hurricane victims in New Orleans have begun eating corpses to survive. Four days after the storm, thousands of blacks in New Orleans are dying like dogs. No-one has come to help them.

I am a sixty-four year old African-American.

New Orleans marks the end of the America I strove for.

I am hopeless. I am sad. I am angry against my country for doing nothing when it mattered.

This is what we have come to. This defining watershed moment in America"s racial history. For all the world to witness. For those who"ve been caused to listen for a lifetime to America"s ceaseless hollow bleats about democracy. For Christians, Jews and Muslims at home and abroad. For rich and poor. For African-American soldiers fighting in Iraq. For African-Americans inside the halls of officialdom and out.

My hand shakes with anger as I write. I, the formerly un-jaundiced human rights advocate, have finally come to see my country for what it really is. A monstrous fraud.

But what can I do but write about how I feel. How millions, black like me, must feel at this, the lowest moment in my country"s story.

Allow me to be the first to say it ...

PPFFFFTTTTTTTTTTTTT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a jerk ! Thousands of people of all races live in New Orleans , not just blacks . By any chance did the "brother" happen to notice the "persuasion" of the majority of the looters and pillagers ? Somehow I doubt it since you can't see much from inside your own rump ... [:@]

Sorry, but this makes me want to puke blood!!! If I were black, I'd be embarassed beyond belief of the representation the black population in NO is giving the world to see. [:'(]

Sometimes I am disappointed (well okay, many times) by how certain minorities react to situations.

The whole NO situation is a bad deal. Most of the white people left. Most of the people that stayed were black.

The whole state and country was ill-prepared for the disaster.

Whites and blacks both, just lost their beloved hometown city of New Orleans. Both of their lives have been effected equally.

Most of the stranded are black. Most of the rescuers are white.

All of the people are Americans.

And in times of trouble. 99.9% of the time. People are doing the best they can to help those in need. Whether NO is 99% white mostly black rescuers, or 99% black with mostly white rescuers....the result would be exactly the same. It would take just as long to get help to the people.

Is he in New Orleans?

If not would someone please get him and take him there! Throw him from a rescue helicopter over the worst part of the city at about 2500 feet above the place!!!!!!!

I knew when i saw the first images of the area and the color of the looters (well 99% of them!) this would come up!

I talked to a fellow from Pascagoula (he lived less than a mile from the coast) just yesterday at the post office. A lady came in and started giving the gov't down the road about the situation, that they weren't doing enough, etc. This guy was very polite, but straightforward and had nothing but good things to say about the relief efforts. He still has family there that couldn't get out in time. He explained to the lady that the situation only allowed so much, and the relief workers were doing all they possibly could. The idiots shootingand looting didn't help a bit. He said gangs were taking over---breaking into occupied houses, robbing, looting, carjacking, etc. He'd been there, and still had people there. It's something that you just can't understand from just watching the news or reading the paper.

Randall Robinson is a racist idiot.

I dont think this had as much to do with race as some might think, I think it had to do with the leaders not knowing what to do or how to implement a plan or even how to formulate a plan. It shows a definate lack of leadership and we already knew we had no leadership and this event validated it.....
