Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

I'm sure someone on this site can find a verse or two that will tell us it's allright to kill anyone we need to.

Didn't know the world might end this year until I found out about the Red heiffer that was bred in Texas.

Quote:
A red heifer is being raised in Texas which is also something needed, it has being inspected by Rabbis and declared pure (Kosher) to be use as a purity sacrifice, the ashes are needed for that.

No where in time for the past 2000 years has there being borned a pure red Heifer.
the animal cannot have 1 white hair or any other color, according to God's instructions to Moses.

They have it now. So I figure the time is here.
What do you think
I was going to post don't take anymore acid, but that would have been disrepectful to his religious beliefs. Guess there was no need to take out the garbage this morning.

The only thing idiots like Robertson and Falwell care about is their visibility to the public eye . They get so wrapped up in being minor celebrities that they forget what their calling is . Once a preacher starts to preach outside of his own church's teachings , and definitely when he calls for something that contradicts what his own church teaches , then he really isn't much of a preacher anymore . They obviously didn't learn from Jimmy Swaggert , practice what you preach or shut up .

In so doing, he has now called for a terrorist act against another nation - just like Bin Laden and Islamic clerics who call for similar acts against the US for the self same reasons as Pat.
Where are all the other Christian leaders calling for the condemnation of Robertson. Isn't that why all Muslims were painted with a broad brush. Because they didn't immediately come out against statemnts of Bin Ladens?

Excellent point, Kevin....

Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell also have net incomes in excess of 8 figures!!! Wow, can I become a televangelist and earn upwards of $16,000,000 a year?

Another excellent point. I wonder if it'll make it into the sermons of preachers across the country this Sunday? There are a few nationally known religious people (besides the Rev Jackson) that could openly condemn the statement.

Quote:
The administration quickly distanced itself Tuesday from the suggestion by religious broadcaster and Bush backer Pat Robertson that the United States assassinate a leftist Latin American head of state. State Department spokesman Sean McCormack called Robertson's remarks about Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez "inappropriate," but stopped short of condemning them. "This is not the policy of the United States government," McCormack said. "We do not share his views."
Inappropriate now there's some strong langauge.

Quote:
In Venezuela, Vice President Jose Vicente Rangel called Robertson's remarks "terrorist statements." He condemned them as incitement to murder and called on U.S. officials to make clear that the law applies "even to such Christians."
In Caracas, Rangel said: "The ball is in the U.S. court after this criminal statement by a citizen of that country. It's a huge hypocrisy to maintain this discourse against terrorism and at the same time, in the heart of that country, there are entirely terrorist statements like those."
Robertson's remarks caught the deep tensions between the Chavez and Bush administrations, as Chavez seeks to maintain his political foundation with open hostility toward the United States. The U.S. government, wary of Chavez, nevertheless looks to Venezuela as a reliable supplier of oil.
The uproar is but the most recent over Robertson's public statements.
In the spring, he appeared on ABC television's This Week and denounced "out of control" federal judges as a greater threat to the fabric of the country than "a few bearded terrorists who fly into buildings."
In 1998, Robertson made news by saying that Orlando, Fla., risked divine wrath for allowing gays to fly rainbow flags: "I would warn Orlando that you're right in the way of some serious hurricanes, and I don't think I'd be waving those flags in God's face if I were you."
Couple more good qoutes from Pat in here.

Quote:
The head of the National Association of Evangelicals said Robertson was endangering the lives of Christians in Venezuela
Translation,we agree but don't say it in public?

I also think President Bush should forcefully condemn the comment since Robertson claims to align himself closely with Bush and his policies.

Silence from Bush on this issue will be damaging to him.

Stamping on the idiot Robertson's right to free speech would be more damaging to Bush here since most Americans would probably agree with him in this case . Distancing himself wouldn't hurt though .
