Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Pat Robertson strikes again....

Lord, forgive me.... But this guy is out to lunch!!!! [:'(]Butch A.======================================
Pat Robertson Calls for Assassination of Hugo ChavezTelevangelist Calls Venezuelan President a 'Terrific Danger' to the United StatesVIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Aug. 22) - Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson called on Monday for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, calling him a "terrific danger" to the United States.Robertson, founder of the Christian Coalition of America and a former presidential candidate, said on "The 700 Club" it was the United States' duty to stop Chavez from making Venezuela a "launching pad for communist infiltration and Muslim extremism."
Chavez has emerged as one of the most outspoken critics of President Bush, accusing the United States of conspiring to topple his government and possibly backing plots to assassinate him. U.S. officials have called the accusations ridiculous.
"You know, I don't know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it," Robertson said. "It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war ... and I don't think any oil shipments will stop."
Electronic pages and a message to a Robertson spokeswoman were not immediately returned Monday evening.
Venezuela is the fifth largest oil exporter and a major supplier of oil to the United States. The CIA estimates that U.S. markets absorb almost 59 percent of Venezuela's total exports.
Venezuela's government has demanded in the past that the United States crack down on Cuban and Venezuelan "terrorists" in Florida who they say are conspiring against Chavez.
Robertson accused the United States of failing to act when Chavez was briefly overthrown in 2002."We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability," Robertson said.
"We don't need another $200 billion war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator," he continued. "It's a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with."

Robertson has been out to lunch as far back as I can remember , too bad that he keeps coming back for short visits . People like him and Jerry Falwell are the reasons why there will never be a fundamentalist preacher in the White House , and personally I'm very glad of that .

So, the fact that it was a "fundamentalist preacher" who said it - y'all's words, not mine - what do you think we should do about the situation in Venezuala?

LOl, Come on that sounds like something out of the cold war. Seal our borders and those launched won't have anywhere to land.

Do we really want to go nation building again?

To what "situation" are you referring ?
The only situation we may have there is a very minor diplomatic incident , Chavez hasn't even addressed the matter himself yet . So far all that's happened is that a jackass has brayed loudly enough to annoy at least one of the neighbors , they'll get over it.

I think we oughtta send in a team to take Chavez out. Just like the man said.

Funnily enough, I was flipping through the channels yesterday, stopped on his show, and heard him say it live.

I'm not sure there's a better "option" other than taking him out. I have yet to hear one from anyone else. And I think it's clear that Chavez is an enemy of the US and the US's ideals.

Nasty communist dictatorship - they are very much a threat. Our borders are pourous as hell and we have already essentially lost the land garnered by Guadalupe Hildalgo.

Ford said we couldn't roach anyone, we can recind that in a heart beat.

But we won't, Bush has a soft spot for Latrinos.
