Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default An American Hiroshima

Anybody else read this? Kind makes you wonder not if, but when? Do they really have the nukes? Why have'nt they hit us again? What are they waiting for? This subject gets brought up occasionally on our local talk radio but usually gets drowned out by the news of the day.

I've read it, and so has my wife. I tend to think that Tom Tancredo might have hit it on the head on why this hasn't happened before. Even a "backpack" nuke set off in Lower Manhattan would cause catastrophic damage to the world economy for years to come, and change the political landscape in this country for about the same time. Habeus corpus would be suspended indefinitely, and the public would demand draconian restrictions on civil rights in the US.

Oh sure - it MUST be August, July is almost over. Anyone care to bet we'll see the same dire predicitons for Sept when August is about half over?

It wouldnt suprize me that much- to look to the horizon& see a mushroom cloud in the distance(pretty close)

While elk hunting in the snowy range mtns - i was looking for that cloud(to the south)after hearing a rumbling explosion (think it was a mining company doing mostly underground explosions then)
Super volconos or nuks - shouldlook about the same at firstmaybe- Mother nature can put on quite the show by herself i think.

I take the threat dead seriously, and frankly it scares the hell out of me.

WhenI consider how many tonsof nuclear material (both fissionable and non-fissionable) has gone missing after the collapse of the Soviet Union, this threat tends to weighsvery heavily uponmy mind.

There is no doubt that al Qaeda and its affiliates are both incredibly insane and extremely violent groups. To hear one of their own go into details like this sends chills up my spine. I just hope we can capture or (preferrably) kill anyone working to see it through before it's too late.
