Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Conflicts in the Law

Here is a good article on domestic violence and self preservation.

I"ve known all along that cops don't have to protect you.

But reading this story brought up an interesting idea. If someone is attacked and serioiusly hurt or raped, I wonder if in the states (like wisco.) that don't have concealed carry, could that individual sue the state for negligence or endangerment for denying the right to protect yourself.....

They would have an out because in most states that don't allow concealed carry you can still , in most cases , carry in plain sight . Her access to firearms had therefore not been denied .

I figure that if they police have no obligation to protect me then I have little further use for them . They can just stay off my property and let me handle it . Oh wait , you can't do that ... [:@]

The biggest hurdle would be immunity. Most governmental entities enjoy immunity from most forms of liability, especially negligence.

But in alot of cases (like Wisconsin) the overall state rule of unconsealed carry is superceded by county/municipal law.

Should have figured as much. We now have some looney politician in Wisconsin who has put a bill before the state legislature that would essentially outlaw recall elections....

Can you believe the nerve of these ***pipes ? Trying to take away the right to recall the losers !!

Counties and municipalities are not normally allowed to supercede state laws. Oh wait, I forgot you're in the even more communist state of Wisconsin.[8D]
