Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Childbirth = Party Time?!

Woman Arrested After Giving Birth Drunk

[/align]Awoman has been arrested on child neglect charges after giving birth while drunk, police said. Melissa Irene Tanner, 37, is accused of having a blood alcohol content close to three times the legal limit when she gave birth to a baby girl on June 30.

She is being held in jail with bail set at $30,000 and the baby has been placed in foster care.

The baby was not breathing upon birth and had to be administered a medication to counteract any narcotics that may have been present in the child's system. After an emergency procedure by hospital staff, the child started breathing.

Tanner reportedly has six other children. According to a July 11 probable cause affidavit filed in the case, Tanner told police she and another person had consumed a case of beer.

I used to see crap like that all the time. When I tended in the hood we would always get these prego broads saunter into the bar loaded to the gills on booze looking for more.

I always told them to leave.

my sister in law had a mid-wife last baby (born late June)

She was like 5 cm dilated and the gal was like "drink a glass of wine and go to bed" and after a few days of walking around efaced, she went into true labor and had the little girl with little pain (relatively speaking) in about 45 minutes.

Hospitals WANT to force women into labor early. Its a huge farse the way hospice is for pregnant women. I'm certainly not condoning what happened, just throwing something out there

Very similiar to "guzzle a quart of whiskey and forget about it".

Tard - worked great too

COmpared to my cousin's wife. They induced labor (forced) because the baby was too big. Ended up she wasn't near ready, it didn't work and they did a C section. 15 hours of misery and baby and Mom suffering, Mom cut for life, high hospital bill and the baby ?

Not quite 8 pounds. They were wrong. They forced her labor. My wife they forced her labor too with 1st child. With my second, she just waited until the very end to go to the hospital

Time to sterilize her!!! She had no business bearing anymore children for her own financial..."welfare" gain. Evidently she cares nothing about the kids...just what more she can get out of the system to finance her habit! Not to mention that it is unspeakable that any mother/parent would put dope, alchol, etc before their children! EVER! Perhaps that sounds as if I am unobjective on the issue... damn right I am! Grrrrrr...

I thought you didn't recieve extra money since the changes were made to the welfare system.

found this:
The second issue regarding women on welfare who continue to have more children to increases their welfare check is also a misconception among the public. Both Berrick and Cammisa argue that a welfare recipient's check may increase due to having another child but only on average by approximately $70.00 per month (Berrick, Pg.15 & Cammisa, Pg.16). Seventy dollars per month is hardly enough money to support a child and supports the notion that in fact many women on welfare find it harder to raise their children and to escape poverty and the welfare system if they have additional children. Berrick states:

But that's the point -- THEY DON'T RAISE THEIR KIDS. They let the public schools and the local charitable organizations take care of them. So in essence, they're getting $70 free dollars.
