Everything that I've ever read suggeted that during prehistoric times there were all kinds of volcanic eruptions , and that the atmoshere back then was filled with more toxins and greenhouse gasses than it is today as a result . It was unquestionably warmer then , and yet the ecosystem didn't collapse , it supposedly took a huge meteor to do that .
Why are we supposedly doing far more damage simply because of our 100+ years of fossil fuel consumption ? We still have occasional volcanic events , and the forest fires out west the last few years have unquestionably pumped mega amounts of toxins and GGs into the atmosphere , so why should our piddly use of oil be such a concern ?
Yes , this is a political issue per the Kyoto Accords that Bush steadfastly refuses to sign .

RE: Am I the only one sick of hearing about global warming ?
global warming is a danger to humans...not the earth.
the earth will be just fine without us.
i think that we should be responsible in how we treat the planet, in the event that christians are wrong and there is no rapture to cart them off to bliss after the earth is destroyed.
RE: Am I the only one sick of hearing about global warming ?
Global warming is the biggest crock of crap that the mainstream media has foisted on the public in decades.
We are currently at one of the lowest CO2 levels and overall global temperatures in the history of the universe. During the Jurassic period the average temperature was 20 degrees Celcius HIGHER than it is now. If you look at curves of temperatures -vs- CO2 concentrations we are actually on a downslide.
This is nothing more than a ploy to have industrialized countries shed themselves of manufacturing and send it to turd world countries -- a slick form of global socialism.
RE: Am I the only one sick of hearing about global warming ?
I fail to see how the Chicken Littles can scream that the sky is falling based on a very short sampling of factors that they themselves admit they know very little about . The Natl. Weather Service won't even guarantee their forecast past 5 days , but the global warming crowd wants to tell us what's gonna happen in 10,000 years , if not sooner . Personally , I sincerely doubt that we've had all that much impact , it's pretty easy to point to smoke billowing out of a stack and yell "See ?" when you don't have all the facts to start with .

Yep, I'm just about sick of so-called experts beating this argument into the ground. The only way we can know for sure if global warming is 1) a serious threat to the planet; and 2) caused by human activities, is to sit back and wait a few thousand years or so and check the data again. The earth is not going to heat up overnight, even if we are doing the heating.

Why, I am surprised at you folks for not believing. Didn't you see the documentary "The Day After Tomorrow"? I don't know about you all, but if a movie and movie stars say it is so, it must be. After all, they are soooooo much smarter than the rest of us.
