Nobody can legitimately claim that this is a "conservative" court. We've got only three conservatives. The rest are liberal to moderately liberal.

But your point about the Republican Party not being the party of smaller less intrusive government is dead on. They AREN'T! I'm seriously thinking of quitting the party and becoming an Independent. If I had somewhere else to go, I would. It makes me sick.

Ditto's to both NCOutdoors and Ifferd!!! I'm a very disillusioned republican as well. Thinking of becoming a libertarian. I've always thought that a third party was a waste of time but what to do? I keep voting republican as a lesser of 2 evils but it's getting to the point where I can't do it any longer. I want to vote for candidates Ihonestly endorse but I can't help thinking that voting libertarian only helps the dem's which in my opinion are far more liberal. I really think its time for the automatic runoff in elections where you vote for your first and second choice.

Our supreme court might be considered conservative by the Clintons and kennedy's but anybody with any sense can see that it's a liberal court with only 3 conservative members.

It doesn't matter if its liberal or conservative at this point in time......if they want your land to go to a developer then it will happen.

What's the big deal? The court ruled you could kill children in Roe v Wade, once they did that taking private property is a walk in the park.

We have a government that is entirely too big and totally out of control. I say it's time for us to treat all politicians like dirt. We all know that they are liars, thieves, and scum. Why do we continue to show them any respect at all.

I went to a "town meeting" that our congressman holds (whenever he suspects that he's slipping in popularity) and he arrived like the king of the world. He had an entourage (sp?) of stooges around him at all times and they seemed to cower down whenever he looked their way. The citizens who were allowed to talk called him Sir and practically bowed down to him. The news papers called him "the honorable congressman" in their write-up of the event. When he was leaving the community center people came up to him like he was something special.

We need to spread the word and do the deeds to put all politicians in their rightful places. We all think they're scum and we need to voice our opinions every time we see them. We need to hiss and boo every time they try to speak. We need to throw rotten tomatoes at them at every chance.

Just look at the past presidential elections - we had terrible selections to run the most powerful nation in the world. I think that most of us voted, not for one candidate, but against the other. We need to insist that OUR ballots include one selection that reads "none of the above". Ifneither of the idiots don't get elected it's no loss, they weren't going to do anything anyway.

A good point would be why do people keep electing these bums? Its our choice. Change has to start at the bottom. School board elections, city council elections, county and state elections. There is no way to change starting from the top down. We get who the main two parties put ouit there for us. There is no sign that any third party has a prayer of getting a candidate elected. With judges its a crap shoot. You can appoint a conservative but he may well not vote that way on all the issues. They need to be elected to a term, not appointed for life. Changing the system will be slow at best, impossible at wosrt. How many darn times will guys lkie Kennedy get re=elected. We need term limits big time. Of course they could claim it unconstitutioal again.[:@]

These bums keep getting elected because they keep promising certain segments of of the population more money out of the public coffers.

The door swings both ways, liberals love social welfare programs which rip me off and pretend conservatives love exhorbitant military and foreign expenditures which rips me off.
