Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Senator Durbin's Lame Apology

Has anybody else noticed that Durbin's lame apology is still only a half-hearted one. He believes what he said but is trying to dodge the flack for saying something so stupid. I tried to paste a section of the article but the new HN format doesn't appear to allow that.

How does one defend the indefensible? These politicians make statements and remarks that are half thought out or worse and when it comes time to pay the piper are not willing to take the heat. Durban wants to appear urbane and with it to his fellow democrats and the liberal cause but when he knows he was wrong, still doesn't have the guts to admit it. Others have made similar gaffes in the past and will without doubt continue to make them in the future. The best remedy is to remove them from office at the ballot box at the first opportunity but that will not happen in all likelyhood. Those that elected them in the first place are as bamboozled by the footwork today as they were when they elected them to begin with. In a way it goes back to the old saying about there being no such thing as bad publicity, most of us tend to forget the particulars of an incident over time but remember the name of the individual.

And of course McCain is ready to forgive and forget in the interest of moving on. But it's impossible to move on with morons like Durbin getting in the way of what we're doing to win the war on terror.

Personally I think it's funny. Everyone and everything that someone doesn't agree with is a "nazi".

If you get a flat tire "nazi's did it", if they get your order wrong at McDonald's they're "nazis"...... everything these days is nazi nazi nazi nazi nazi.....

He's up for re-election soon in Illinois, and his poll numbers are good. Looks like he'll be around a lot longer.

(Note to self -- never move to Illinois.)

The Democrats are looking bad these days with Reid, Durbin and Dean spouting off all the time.

closet comedian or out of the closet whack-job.

we dems allow our party members to make idiotic statements like durbin's without censure, and then wonder why we don't win elections, and further wonder why the voters feel more secure re foreign policy with an R at the helm.

if anyone wants me, i'll be curled up under my desk in a fetal position, sucking my thumb and sobbing

Yeah, but you have to admit (and be honest), democrats get WAY MORE leway when it comes to media beatings when they spout something stupid than repubs/conservatives do.

If Frist would have said something like that you would hear about it 24/7 for at least 2 weeks.
