Deer population questions??

Hey all,
doing a study for school regarding hunting and its impact on deer populations. I am arguing that in fact deer populations would explode and ruins much crop, not to mention vehicle collision increasing. Can anyone help me in such that I am looking for websites or anything that may lend information for me to read.

There was a study released last year on this subject by an international group of wildlife biologists, you should be able to find it with a minimal amount of effort on the web. Barring that, or for more information, call your state Dept. of Natural Resources or whatever it is called in your area and speak to a wildlife biologist. They are for the most part a great source of information and those I have met and now work with, love to talk about their job and wildlife in general.

I don't know what state you live in but Coastie is right. Check with your state's DNR and get the deerkill statistics for hunting for the past 20 years. Then check with an auto insurance agency (a main one) and see how many auto accidents involving deer occur in your state each year. I bet you see a correlation of sorts. If you really want to put things in perspective, find out from the insurance agency what the total amount of all deer accident claims was for each year. I bet the dollar amount is staggering.
