I don't feel like really going off right now, but these idiots make me sick. Sure, they've done a lot of good in the world by exposing and pressuring dictators and regimes that violate the rights of their people. But to start playing political favorites and then compare us to the murderous Soviets?!

Here I'm referring to the rumor, whose veracity I cannot attest to, that the Al Queda handbook advises prisoners released from US jails/prisons to accuse the great Satan of in-human or saddistic treatment. If this rumor is correct, then Amenesty International and the news media may be responding faithfully to those puppet strings held by Osama Bin Laden and his gang.

You know, I don't hear much of this in the US news media. It would seem to be a salient point, one worth publicizing. Oh well, maybe the goals of the US news media and Al Queda are shared -- bash Bush! Then again, maybe the rumor has been discredited.

It sort like two national leaders of the NRA giving the $2,000 max. to Bushes campaign.

BTW,I don't agree with what AI said but it's the right of any citizen to give their money where they want.

Charlie it is true that it was the individuals who donated the money, but when it is the executive director and the board chairman who donated it that says a lot, AI is not a bean counting org. it is an org. that reports on what it wants to and what is it's opinion only. These 2 men are the ones that determine what AI reports, so even though AI itself did not make the donations, the people who lead it did.

Which is an individuals right.

AI came down on Clinton about the death penality. In no way did the use the same language,which is what I don't agree with.

Yes, that's very true. However, as leaders of a well-known international human rights NGO, they represent AI to the public.

Also, perhaps it's simply a coincidence, but I find it interesting that these guys support a screaming lefty one day and degrade Bush's administration the next. They didn't do anything illegal--that's for sure. But I can't say the same about their ethical responsibilities.

Charlie I am not saying it is not their right, it is.

It is also thier right as the heads of an orginization to strongly influence what that organizations does and says. All I am pointing out is as with any source it will be biased in the direction of the head/heads of the orginization.

There are very few companies or organizations that are not biased in one way or another.
