Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Thoughts on New Live Aid Concert.

This summer, all the celebrities are getting together for a Live Aid part 2. This time, they don't want donations. Their goal is to get Bush and 7 other world leaders to forgive Africa's debt. That way, they figure the country will have all this money to feed their hungry and wipe out the AIDS epidemic over there. My questions is, will the money really go to any needy people ro will it be kept by corrupt governments? It's not even sending money. It's letting the government of another country go without paying their debt. What message would this send to other countries who owe a debt? Also - the liberals are always b!tching about the deficit, the economy and how we spend too much overseas while not giving it to the less fortunate here. How much money will the USA lose by forgiving this debt? Sounds like a hair brain scheme for the celebrities to throw a publicity stunt and have a "feel good" charity event.

First, how many of those countries are paying back debt?

Second, if the debts were forgiven, how much would that help? Wouldn't they still be asking for money? Should those debts be forgiven too? When does it end?

Bob Geldoff can bite my hinder.

A gathering of multi-multi millionaires who got so from the public spending money now wants the public to take a hit in further debt.

Yep, and that's one of the only things they're good at. Forget 'em.

Geldof is a flake , and so are all the others who threw the first one . You can't just forgive their debts because the minute you do they'll just turn around and borrow from someone else . Besides , what's in it for us ?
