Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default I wipe my hands of the Republican party

I have been steaming about the Republicans for some time. Now I am officially done with them. Their "filibuster deal" is nothing but a spineless cop-out by the Republicans, and basically means that nothing will get accomplished in this Congress. The Republicans have control of the White House, the House and the Senate and they're not going to get one dadgum thing accomplished.

I will vote against Frist and Alexander next time around even if it means voting for a Democrat.

How about 3rd party?

Tell me what bush and the republican controlled congress have done?

- He talked about permanent tax cuts, hasn't happened.

- He talked about amending the constitution if anyone screwed with DOMA, well Mass. now has f@g "marriages". And remember, Bush was elected on a "moral platform".

- We are subjected to Patriot II because of the huge "threat" from terrorism, yet the borders are a frickin' sieve. It's so bad that New York now has 7000 cases of LEPROSY !! and it's all attributable to illegals. Hep C, Leprosy, pin worms, typhus.... it's all over the place. Not to mention the crime and 80Billion a year cost.

- They have done nothing with regard to trade, it's getting worse and we're going to see a 30% increase in middle class jobs outsourced in the next few years.

The republicans have done absolutely NOTHING which can be construed as conservative, in fact they're at absolute best the "status quo" party.

Senators Avoid Battle Over Filibusters

By JIM ABRAMS
Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Judicial nominee Priscilla Owen gets the vote she's been awaiting for more than four years, the most immediate beneficiary of a deal worked out by Senate moderates to avoid a debilitating fight over filibusters.

The Senate was voting to end debate on Owen, currently a Texas Supreme Court justice, clearing the way for her to gain a seat on the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, based in New Orleans. With the threat of a filibuster by Democrats removed, she was nearly certain then to get the simple majority vote needed to give her the seat that long has eluded her, perhaps as early as Tuesday.

I definitely agree that the Republicans caved - and they didn't have to, but voting for the party that they caved to isn't the answer either.

The hell they did. Go read the entire deal. They didn't get a damn thing accomplished with their "deal," and you can bet that the Democrats would've never been willing to strike a deal if they didn't have the votes to stave off the elimination of filibusters. The Republicans are SPINELESS. That's been obvious for some time. I was hoping that would change once they got complete control of Capital Hill, but I believe they've only gotten worse.

As soon as this inevitable Supreme Court vacancy comes up, the Democrats will be filibustering. You can bet on it.
