Police: Girl, 8, found at landfill after being buried alive
LAKE WORTH, Fla. (AP) "” An 8-year-old girl who had been sexually assaulted and buried under rocks in a trash bin was found alive Sunday by an officer searching a landfill, authorities said. A teenager was charged with attempted murder.
The girl had minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, they said. Hospital officials declined to comment on her condition Sunday night.
Milagro Cunningham, 17, who had been staying at the house of the girl's godmother, was charged with attempted murder, sexual battery on a child under 12, and false imprisonment of a victim under 13 years old, police said. He was charged as an adult.
The girl was found about seven hours after she was reported missing, but authorities were still trying to determine how long she had been inside the trash bin. An Amber Alert had been issued early Sunday.
Police Sgt. Mike Hall was scouring the landfill for the girl Sunday morning when he looked inside the trash bin and saw a yellow recycling container with a lid on it. When he opened the lid, he "saw a bunch of rocks, a foot and a hand," Sgt. Dan Boland said.
Hall then yelled out to see if the child was alive, alerting other officers to the discovery. A police lieutenant saw the girl's finger move and officers began pulling rocks off her, Boland said.
"It certainly was a miracle that we found this girl alive," Boland said, adding that the girl was able to talk to authorities after she was removed from the container.
The girl had been staying overnight at her godmother's house when she disappeared, Boland said. Cunningham had lived there for about four months, but he was not related to the girl, police said.
Cunningham was questioned by police early Sunday after the girl was reported missing and told them she may have been abducted by two men in a station wagon, Boland said. Detectives re-interviewed Cunningham when the girl was found and the teen eventually confessed, Boland said.
It was not immediately known who called authorities to report the girl missing.
Unbelievable, it really is. First that anyone would think they could do such a thing and get away with it. Second - unbelievabley cruel way to traet an 8 year old. Third - that the moral decline of this nation has led to the disrespect of life that we now see and Fourth - that this 17 year old will be out of prison in 5 years after costing the state and federal govt millions in trials and housing [:@]

Build a very tall gibbett in a public place. Hang him and leave him hanging until the bones are picked clean by the birds and insects. Take pictures of the process and post them on the web sites these human predators frequent and keep doing it until there are no more incidents like this[:@]

we all talk rough talk, but deep down we know the bleeding heart liberals and the wacked out political correctness of the world will make Milagro Cunningham out to be the victim. He's a minor, under 17, and he'll be out of prison/juvenile in 3-5 years.
Read that again. In 3-5 years he'll be able to do the very same thing to any of our children if given the opportunity.

Don't you just love our judicial system ?
Is it just coincidence that his first name is not only Hispanic but translates to "miracle" ?

Read the article again, he is 17 not under 17, while the possibility is, in all honesty, remote since this is Florida there is at least a chance that he will get his just rewards. Considering the recent spate of child abuse related murders in Florida, a jury just might call for this thing to be put down like a dog.

Assistant state attorney Jeanne Howard said prosecutors will seek to charge him as an adult and that evidence will be presented to a grand jury Thursday.
Cunningham will be charged with attempted murder, sexual battery on a child under 12 and false imprisonment of a victim under 13, Boland said.
