Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Is Fed Gov't crossing the line into sports?

I understand why performance enhancing substances are banned from many sports. I don't get why there's a push for the federal gov't to get involved. I say deal with it at the state, or even better, the professional league level.

I agree. Why bother.

I think football players should be issued weapons too. Nothing out of line, just shanks and stuff.

The only reason I see for them to become involved is that the Pro's make Huge ammounts of money!!!!! if they claim to be legit and not doped up, and then they do not investigate it themselves- it is fraud

I see a connection between pro sports' steroid use and high school kids using steroids; other than that, congress might be able to find a few other things to hold its attention right now.

No way this is the most important thing facing the nation right now and should be taken care of before anything else.

Another weapon of mass distraction.

The question I want answered is: Where in the Constitution is Congress given authority to govern over drug use in a private industry?

I think it's in the Patriot Act 2.

Seeing as how "professional sports" (and I love that term, it holds the same meaning to me as "professional sleeping") gets taxpayer monies all the time, they set themselves up by raping me for their playgrounds, as such they have crossed the line and now become subject to government control.

That's the problem, there is already too much government involvement! Let the leagues and teams pay their own way and take care of their own problems. Government has no more business building stadiums than it does trying to force pro athletes to be good role models for America's youth.
