Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Now that's what I call civil disobedience !

Vive le leisure !

Ordinarily I despise the French , but this story gave me hope that perhaps we've been a positive influence for them after all . Screw socialism , down with the elderly !

If when the elderly there were allowed to keep their own money instead of sending it to the wasteful government bureaucracy there would be no problem.

We're doing the exact same thing here. and when I see some families pulling down 100k/year claiming they just can't save money - I already know that when they retire my relatives AND YOU will be supporting their dumb rear ends because they just "can't make ends meet".

Besides, when we have to start buying air conditioners for the elderly, I think that it's the big guy's way of saying .... "uhhh, your time may be up soon"

Some of you guys really aren't getting the whole "tongue in cheek" concept ...
I don't agree with them at all , I just thought it was funny that a socialist society would balk at giving up a day off so that the elderly could be further subsidized .

I was here i remember those heat waves in france& europe. I rememeber saying then too- if those frogs would lay off all that cheap frence wine
& la booze they wouldnt be falling dead in such numbers
They need a new goverment & a revolution they havent had lately

Just have the hospital workers, em,s t,peramedics drs, nurses & fire dept stay home 4 days a week- then less will die then of old age& heat waves etc

Those french are just like kids- where having a walk out -- what for(dont know) but we will have the day off

Many of our older folks like to get away from cold& snow- then they move where summer is hot hot hot like Az mn fla etc etc- manyplaces a underground home or basement would be good hot or cold, more should have them - sometimes tho to they are not posible or practical..

Bunkers are handy& adobe too
