Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Was this film really necessary ?

"D" is for Duh!

I honestly think that with the inexcusable teen pregnancy rates in this country this is a good idea , but pretty much everyone right down to my preadolescent grandkids know the basics of procreation . I can't claim innocence at their age either , but I like to think that I had more sense . I didn't need a film to tell me that Jimmy was my best friend , and a swollen belly was the worst case scenario I had to face . AIDS was not a factor then .

So the question is: "Why should this film be necessary ?"

It's interesting to note that the "report" claims that the information on "safe sex" is "necessary"...

In fact it's not necessary, it's the equivalent of telling kids to use clean needles when they shoot up.

The fallacy of sex education for kiddies is that they believe there is no way to stop them from having sex so they take it upon themselves to "teach" your kids about it. This is the same as "teaching" your kids how to safely use drugs.

prior to the 60's 'sexual revolution' the incidence of teen pregnancy was far less than it is today. The reason was that it was deemed as socially unacceptable to become pregnant and premarital sex was for the most part viewed as verboten and you were a "whore" if this happened.

Well, the stigma has been lifted and pregnant teens and their errant "boyfriends" are now viewed as victims of their crotch. Until such time as society once again shuns this behavior, it will perpetuate and get worse.

Me too. It was not easy but thats what I was taught at home and at church. However now the kids are raised by daycare and the TV. Also God has now been booted from the schools. The direction we are going can not be a suprise if we really think about it.
