Recently, a friend of mine was deer hunting along the Mb-Sask border, he is a Mb resident + he observed a 1/2 ton with Sask plates on the border(parked) loaded with bags of grain. Also an empty trailor was hooked up to the truck. By the tracks, he could tell that 2 guy's were unloading + hauling on a quad, these bags back into the bush. He asked me if it is legal to bait for deer or elk in Sask. I did not know the answer, so I'm asking it here? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Yes it is legal to bait deer in sask however there are certain dates no sooner then August i believe up until end of Dec but i'd have to double check the regs. Also there are specific amounts of bait you can have out at one time, size of bales, amount of grain etc. Other bait cannot be stored near by for future use and your bait station should have your name and phone number near the bait for identification purposes. Other regs that apply but I would have to check the guide.
