Funny you should ask. We shared our Nouchimi cabin with four guys from Boston. One of them was a taxidermist. All four of those guys from their group were getting both of their Bou heads mounted. They would drag the entire bou into the cabin on a tarp and the Taxidermist would cape them. It was kind of like watching a good surgeon work. We had to boil all the skull caps with water and vinegar to get the grey matter out. The US border guys are checking. They are still worried about mad cow (despite the fact that the Bous are herbivores).

I took two very nice Bous. Both had double shovels, scoops and kickers. Unfortunately, I will have to settle for antler only mounts. My wife would be too wigged out to have shoulder mounts in the house. Besides, with 8-foot ceilings in my house those big mounts may look a little funny. Maybe I 'll go on Pronghorn hunt next year like you did. A shoulder mounted prong horn may be an easier sell

Hey I have my bou downstairs in my rec room. Sure it looks odd but I don't care and as long as its below ground the wife tolerates it. Hopefully my antelope will be ready by Xmas.

Was the antelope hunt expensive? I may take a year off of Caribou hunting and go for a Lope next year. Sounds like another great adventure

The antelope hunt was about the same price as a bou hunt mostly because the tags were expensive. Logisticaly much easier as you are in america in farm/ranch country with all services and amenities.

Did you use a guide or hunt on your own?

Hunted on our own. Lots of ranches out there have pay as you go tresspass hunts. Just contact local chambers of commerce and they will mail you a list. Really don't need guides for antelope, they would only get in the way in my opinion. Can't pass on my spot as I was sworn to secrecy by the fellow who put me on to it
