Default TerryM strike's again - 1st Pronghorn!!

Terry had asked me to post some pics for him as he had some problems. Here is his first Loper. Terry please tell us what you think of hunting these speedy little devils and give us the low down on events leading to the pic?

Skeeter,
Thanks buddy. This was my first ever hunting trip out west and we had a blast. Four of us each took a buck and a doe. Antelope hunting is "an action all day" type of hunt. You blow a stalk and then just move on to another herd or work the same herd again. We hunted a private ranch inarea 28 in Wyoming. My first shot was at the buck and I took him at 413 yds after an easy stalk. He was in a herd of 12 and he seemed more interested in feeding than looking up. My second (doe) was much trickier as I got busted once by the herd and chased them around for 5 hours before I could crawl up for a shot at 326 yds. A rangefinder is a must for someone like myself who is not familiar with the country and size of these turbo goats. I used my 7mm rem mag, as its my flatest shooting rifle and even though they are quite small and easy to kill the wind out there was brutal and I did not regret my rifle choice. I am still picking cactus needles out of my knees and elbows. We all shot too early as we saw much better bucks later in the week. Oh well, we just have to go back and do it right next time.

Looks like a nice setup for your rifle Terry M. From Here it looks like a 700 bdl ss but i am probably wrong. I would be interested to know what kind of rifle and scope you have in the antelope picture,

The rifle is a Sako Finnlite in 7mm rem mag. The scope is a Leupold VARIX II 3x9x40. Loads were 150gr. Nosler ballistic tips in front of a maximum charge of IMR 4831. The Bipod is an early version of the Harris that does not swivel.
