Default BSE and American Hunters.

Anyone have any thoughts on the BSE situation and allowing American hunters onto Canadian land.

Default RE: BSE and American Hunters.

I read an article on this topic about a month ago in the Western Seducer. I also feel that we have to make some type of a move to speed this process up but I am not sure if this will help or not. One farmer may not allow American hunters on his land but his neighbor okays the request. In order to be affective i think 100% of the landowners would have to take a stand, which i do not think would happen. Another option is to ban the hunters completely, stop them right at the border. It may put some pressure on the government but would also kill our outfitting and tourism economy. I guess if we pissed off enough american hunters word would get back to the governement on our feelings but at what costs? However i already think they know how we feel. All the tests and information are in all we can really do is wait for them to stop cutting our throats. I really truely hope this back fires on them. Beef prices in the states are sky high and many consumers are shying away due to the high prices. If they keep up this system they will do it to themselves also.

I have heard that the virus for BSC can travel in Natural gas and Oil pipelines. Perhaps we should shut off all lines going to the states to protect them from that possible disease threat. Then if they want the oil and gas turnned back on they can take the cattle too.

Hey Duffyf, don't forget about the possibility of BSE traviling on our lumber or in our water. we best cut that off too. And what about it coming with all those cars being built out east? Some could hide in the glove boxes. Better shut them down too. Somthing really needs to be done. The Americans who are protesting our cattle is really nothing more than a small group. You would think they would just tell those guys to shove it already. It's obvious there just milking things trying to get as rich as possible in the shortest amount of time. I garuntee they already have BSE running rampent down there, just no one knows it. As Ralph said, "Shoot, shovel and shut up"!
